about
On his latest single "Fast As I Can," Stephen Hunley surrounds his unique, soulful vocal styling with the dreamy, emotive production of Nick DiMaria. Together they have created a sound reminiscent of retro artists such as Roy Orbison, The Righteous Brothers, and The Everly Brothers but with with a cool, modern vibe. Hunley says when he initially sat down to write the song, he did so with his wife Elizabeth in mind. Sometimes the music business forces him to be away from his wife. And whether it's for a few short hours or several long days, Hunley says all that he can think about while he is gone is getting back to her as fast as he can. He also wrote the song for people who are forced to constantly be on the road to make a living such as truck drivers, railroad workers, oilfield workers, bus drivers, musicians, members of the military, and other professions that keep good, hard working folks away from their family and loved ones for extended periods of time.
Hunley says writing and recording the new single has been an absolute labor of love, and hopes people enjoy listening to the song as much as he has enjoyed creating it. He wants to see you very soon out on the road somewhere singing along at the top of your lungs. Most importantly, no matter where you are on life's highway, he hopes the music makes your trip seem a little bit "faster."

FAST AS I CAN LYRICS
I’ve been out on the road hauling ‘round a heavy load
And it sure has taken a toll on my state of mind
Countless miles, endless days rolling down the interstate
Burning out, running late and falling behind
Highway run, setting sun
Over my shoulder
Making up time, on the state line
I’m getting closer
Yeah I’m chugging like an old coal train
Shifting gears and changing lanes
I need to feel the sweet touch of her hands
Fast as I can
Got a girl waiting on me down in Knoxville, Tennessee
Nowhere else I’d rather be than in her bed
How she rocks, how she rolls satisfies my weary soul
All those late night demons and ghosts are laid to rest
Highway run, setting sun
Over my shoulder
Making up time, on the state line
I’m getting closer
Yeah I’m chugging like an old coal train
Shifting gears and changing lanes
I need to feel the sweet touch of her hands
Fast as I can
Highway run, setting sun
Over my shoulder
Making up time, on the state line
I’m getting closer
Yeah I’m chugging like an old coal train
Shifting gears and changing lanes
I need to feel the sweet touch of her hands
Fast as I can
